Admin

Change a member's role or title, or remove them

Set a member's title, make someone an administrator, hand over admin rights before you leave, and remove a person who has left the practice.

Who can do this: Organization admins · Web, desktop, iPhone and Android

Admins manage each member from the Members tab: their title, whether they're an administrator, and whether they're still part of the practice.

Before you start

  • You need to be an organization admin.
  • Manage shows only for people who have accepted their invite. Someone still pending needs to join first.

Change a member's title or role

  1. Click Settings, the gear at the bottom of the left bar.
  2. Click Organizations.
  3. Click your practice. Admins land on the Members tab.
  4. Find the member. Search by name or email if the list is long.
  5. Click Manage on their row. The Manage member window opens.
  6. Type their Title, for example "Attending Physician". Coworkers and patients see it under their name.
  7. Under Role, leave Administrator off unless they should manage the plan, organization settings and other members.
  8. Click Save. Title and role save together, and a bar says Member details updated.
  9. The list now shows the new title under their name. Admins show an Admin badge.

Remove someone who has left

  1. Click Settings, the gear at the bottom of the left bar.
  2. Click Organizations.
  3. Click your practice. Admins land on the Members tab.
  4. Click Remove on the person's row.
  5. The window names the person and your practice. Click Remove to confirm.
  6. They lose access to the practice right away, and the Members count drops by one.

Conversations they were part of stay with your team, so add the right teammate to any chat that still needs a reply.

If a teammate is locked out rather than leaving, they can reset their own password with Forgot password? on the log in screen. To change a password while logged in, open Settings, then Security: type the current password, then the new one twice, and click Save.

Hand over admin rights before you leave

If you're the admin and you're leaving the practice, make sure someone else can run it first.

  1. Click Settings, the gear at the bottom of the left bar.
  2. Click Organizations.
  3. Click your practice. Admins land on the Members tab.
  4. Type your colleague's name in Search for members.
  5. Click Manage on their row.
  6. Under Role, turn Administrator on.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Check that their row now shows the Admin badge.

Once they're an admin, they can remove you from the Members tab on your last day.

On the mobile app

In Settings, open Organizations, then your practice, then the Members tab. Tap the more button on a person's row and choose Manage or Remove.

Good to know

  • Promote a second admin before the current one leaves, so your practice always has someone who can manage the plan and members.
  • Removing a member takes effect after one confirmation. To bring them back, invite them again.
  • Removing a member lowers the number of Team Chat seats on your next bill.
