Keep your sign-in secure

Change your password, manage Quick Login on this computer, and lock out a lost or stolen phone so you can get back to work.

Who can do this: Everyone · Web and desktop

Everything about how you sign in lives in Settings > Security: your password, Quick Login, and which computers can use it. If a phone with BloomText on it is lost or stolen, a new password locks it out.

Change your password

  1. Click Settings, the gear at the bottom of the left bar.
  2. Click Security.
  3. Type your Current password.
  4. Type a new, strong password under New password.
  5. Type it again under Confirm password.
  6. Click Save. A notice confirms that your password was changed.

When you change your password, every device you're signed in on, this one included, has to log in again with the new password the next time it connects. If you think someone else knows your password, change it first.

If your phone is lost or stolen

  1. On a computer, change your password as above. The lost phone can't open your messages once it reconnects, because the old password no longer works.
  2. Under Set up Quick Login, check that Use Quick Login is set the way you want.
  3. Under Devices, switch off Approve this device on any computer you no longer use.
  4. Log out. On your new phone, install BloomText and log in with the new password. Log back in on your computer, and set up Quick Login again if you use it.

Forgot your password? Use Forgot password? on the sign-in screen. See Reset or change your password.

Manage Quick Login on this computer

Quick Login lets you sign in with a 4-digit PIN on a computer you trust.

  1. In Settings > Security, under Set up Quick Login, tick Use Quick Login and type your PIN under Enter a PIN. Turn it on only on a computer at work, never on a public one.
  2. To stop this computer from using Quick Login, go to Devices and switch off Approve this device.

See Log in fast with a quick-login PIN for how it works day to day.

Good to know

  • If your organization asks for a texted code at login and your lost phone had that number, email support@bloomtext.com for help updating it.
  • Tell your organization admin about a lost work phone. They can remove an account from the organization if needed.
