Set up a new clinic location
Give a new location its own team, staff, phone number and after-hours reply, so it's ready to text families on opening day.
Who can do this: Organization admins · Web and desktop
When your practice opens a new location, give it its own team. The team gets its own shared inbox, its own texting number and its own hours, so staff at the new site see only their families' texts.
Before you start
- You need to be an organization admin.
- Invite the new site's staff to your practice first. See Invite teammates and choose their role.
Create the team
- In the left bar, click Directory.
- Click the Teams tab.
- Click the plus button next to Directory. Only admins can create teams.
- Type the new location's name in Team Name.
- Click Create. The team page for the new location opens.
Add the staff
- On the team page, under Members, click Add members.
- Search for someone who will work at the new site.
- Click their name in the results.
- Click Add. They now see this team's shared inbox.
Get the number and the hours ready
- Buy a number for the new site on the Plan tab, under Settings, Organizations, then your practice. See Add a phone number.
- To have the new number's texts land in this team's inbox, email support@bloomtext.com with the number and the team name.
- Once the team has its number, set its hours and after-hours reply on the Auto-Reply tab. See Set business hours and auto-replies.
- Send a test text from the new number to a staff phone, and reply to it.
Good to know
- Each additional number is billed monthly. See Pricing and plans.
- If no numbers are free in your area code, try a nearby one.
