For Patients & Families

Use the BloomText app as a patient

Sign in to the BloomText app with a code, see your care team's chats in one place, reply live, and get notifications instead of texted links.

Who can do this: Patients and families · iPhone and Android

If your care team uses BloomText, you can read and answer their messages in the BloomText app on your phone. You sign in with a code instead of a password, see all your care team's chats in one place, and get a notification when they reply.

You don't have to use the app. Texts and secure links from your care team keep working without it (see You got a text from your care team).

Before you start

  • Your care team adds you. Use the phone number or email they have for you. Patients can't create their own account.
  • Install BloomText on your iPhone or Android phone.

  1. Open the app. On Sign in, tap Patient.
  2. Enter the phone number your care team texts you at, then tap Send code. To use your email, tap Use email instead.
  3. Enter the code you get, then tap Verify.

No password is needed. If the code doesn't come, tap Resend code, or ask your care team to add that phone number or email to your record.

Read and reply

  1. Messages lists your care team's chats. Tap one to open it.
  2. Type your reply and send it. Your care team sees it in their BloomText inbox right away, and their replies show up in the chat as they send them.

Get notified

The first time you sign in, the app asks to notify you when your care team replies. Tap Turn on notifications, then allow them on your phone.

With notifications on, your phone shows a notification when your care team messages you, instead of you getting a text with a link. If you tap Not now, you keep getting the texted links.
