# The Patient object

> Attributes of a BloomText Patient and the endpoints that return it.

Patient records, always found by patient ID, phone number, or MRN. Patient API: an API key, or an org admin's OAuth token.

### Attributes

- `id` (UUID, required): Unique ID of the patient.

- `first_name` (string or null, required): First name. Null for a patient created from an unknown phone number.

- `last_name` (string or null, required): Last name.

- `date_of_birth` (date or null, required): Date of birth.

- `phone` (string or null, required): Mobile number in E.164 format.

- `email` (string or null, required): Email address.

- `mrn` (string or null, required): The patient's ID in your system, such as an MRN. Up to 36 characters, unique in the organization.

- `sms_opted_out` (boolean, required): Whether the patient replied STOP to texts. Secure-link messages by email still work.

- `conversation_count` (integer, required): How many conversations the patient has in the organization, on any phone number.

- `created_at` (timestamp, required): When the patient was created.

- `matched_by` (mrn, phone, email, null): On Create a patient: which field matched an existing patient. Null when the patient was just created.
